About me

I’m a connector and communicator.

My name's Kate Thompson. In my professional life I’ve built a project-based career helping organisations connect, communicate and change for good.

I’ve also helped many people and communities gain skills, knowledge and access to opportunities, through governance, community engagement, redundancy support, English as a Second Language teaching, and mentoring.

I enjoy meeting new people, learning new things and having new experiences. I'm a published editor and teach adult education at Selwyn Community Education. I have a BCom in Economics, a LLB and a BA in French.

Outside work I’m happiest on my bike, in the garden or the bush, with my nose in a good book, or enjoying the company of my husband Tony, friends and Momo the cat.

I’m a proud mentor to two awesome young women and I tutor reading support in a local primary school. I'm learning te reo Māori.

I'm based in Auckland, in Aotearoa New Zealand and work with clients around the country and in Australia. This being the 2020s I'm now a well-seasoned 'remote worker' and you're only ever a Zoom call away!
